Horse Appraiser

Hi,

I was told maybe some breeders who have experience in this stuff might be able to help me. I am going to donate my horse to my old college and I am looking for an official horse appraiser around Williamsburg, VA.

If you send me a PM I will give you the name and contact info for a Certified Equine Appaiser (friend of mine) who happens to "winter" in Virginia. He has excellent credentials and referrences, too. Jackie

Don't know if it matters to you or not, but you should know that they can, and have every right once you donate (i.e. turn over full power of ownership to the college) your horse to them to turn right around and sell him outright or take him to an auction to raise money that they may want or need more than they need your horse. JFYI

I believe that is exactly what happened to Ishi on this board. She let a friend take over one of her horses and they donated the horse to a college. The college then sold the horse at auction. Somehow, the lady that bought him contacted Ishi or something and that is the only way she got him back.
