I was wondering if it's ok to use surpass under back on track wraps.

Yes. I've not done it, but my vet said I could.

I don't see why it couldn't be used under BOT wraps. On another note though- my vet says Surpass is no better than Sore No More, Thermatex, etc. :)

One is a NSAID, the others are an analgesic (maybe) and vasodilator. It is like saying that aspirin is no better than Ben-Gay. One is an anti-inflammatory and a pain reliever, the other is not. Your vet needs to be more specific. Surpass has some data to back it up, and it is a regulated drug.

That being said, the only contra-indication I can see for using something under the BOT wraps is the excessive production of heat. Surpass does not create heat. Sore No More doesn't create much heat. I would be careful with Thermflex.

ETA: Have used surpass under wraps A LOT. With vet approval.

Yes, but if your horse is sensitive, it might cause scurffing.

Knew someone who could not use Surpass under wraps on her grey for this reason. He would get filled and hot and scurff. She could wrap OR use Surpass, but not both at the same time.
