View Full Version : $700 Pony Is Looking For a New Home (New Jersey)

We left the country over two years ago and Miss $700 Pony has been sitting in a field ever since. We have no plans to return to the US in the immediate future, so with great sadness* I am trying to find a new home for Herself.

The $700 Pony is a 14h 10-14 year old chestnut mare, unknown breeding. She is not suitable for reproductive purposes and I will not give her to anyone who plans to breed her.

She has not been ridden for two years, but was competing at pre-beginner novice events prior to our leaving. She is not suitable for a child, but a good pony clubber teen or small adult would make a good match. She is easy going on the trails, easy to work around in the barn (stands for farrier, vet, etc), self loads on the trailer. She is very tricky to catch in a field.

She was 100% sound (I kept her shod in plain shoes) for the three years I rode her, but has a capped elbow (cosmetic blemish, did not impact her way of going).

I am giving her away, so no strings - you can have whatever "stuff" I can dig up, including blankets and bridle. I will also pay for/provide shipping wherever she goes. I'd rather not ship to California, but am happy to get her up or down the east coast.

Photos and further descriptions available via PM. Photos also probably available at www.sevenhundreddollarpony.com (please note, I cannot see the web-site as it is blocked in China, so I say "probably" because I don't know - maybe someone would chime it as to whether or not there are photos?).

And to comfort those wondering, if she does not find a home, of course I'll keep her. But, I do need to periodically try to find her a home. It is just silly to have a horse sitting around in the US when there is no plan to live there.

This is probably the first time since heading off to college that I wished I was still on the East coast! I've always wanted a spry little pony... :-/ I miss my leased mare from high school. Maybe she'll still be available in 2 years?!

Perhaps if you included autographed copies of both her books she would go quicker... ;)

J/K. It can't be that hard to find a home for a famous pony.

Nah! It's going to cost at least 700 bucks to ship her. So, figure Noctis can call her the -$700 Pony.

:D Thanks guys! She'll always be the $700 Pony, and while my writing isn't nearly as good as RR's, I will definitely continue her chronicles BACK to fitness/eventing with WA's Quattro!

I may have missed some things... but does that mean that Noctis and WA and Quattro are all together and Ms. Pony will soon be joining them??? is that what I'm hearing????

Welllllll...... If that is the case I guess I can be happy for her. :)

I think the Pony would LOOK Dashing put to a nice meadobrook cart.

She *would*!!! And yes, that's what you're hearing. Q goes back to his trainer's barn in the spring, but he's taking the winter off for some more grow time and is living at Noctis' barn - so he and Shiver and the Verrie Famouse $700 Pony will all be roommates! :)

Its a CoTH menagerie! And MANY updates will be provided! Right now we're discovering shipping with one in China, one in TN and Herself in NJ is an interesting endeavour during the holidays!

A HA!... Ok... so not that it matters or anything but this now has the catersun stamp of approval as long as I get PICTURES of Ms. Pony and the meadobrook that is so clearly in her future ;-) Have fun WA!... BTW I miss you posting. I hope things are going well for you. And Noctis... I know you are crazy busytoo, but I miss your posts on Coth too.

She does ground drive, but just be careful! She's a kicker and tetchy about personal space; I did a few driving lessons with her (with a trainer), with blinkers, fake shafts, and she even pulled a tire, if memory serves, but at that point, I ended up getting the Wee Spotted; with a confirmed driving pony on the farm, Miss $700 went back to just being ridden.

I DO think she would lovely pulling a meadowbrook. But, I think she always looks lovely, even winter fat and furry.

I'm not hugely into driving, but it might be fun to play around with :) I do have access to 3 driving minis, so that might be good for me! I'm not coordinated to drive I don't think! But she WOULD look LOFFLY :) I'm looking forward to starting long walks to get fit for both of us!

Right now Herself isn't TERRIBLY fat, but she is fuzzy with her extra blonde winter mane and tail... Mr. Harvey Horse won't mind but I know Injin will miss his first girlfriend. They still talk over the fence and sometimes I catch him staring at her longingly...:D:lol:
