Not sure if this is a real horse in need, or just someone pulling at peoples heartstrings to get rid of a horse. And obviously, its better the horse be euthanized than be sent off to auction and meet an uncertain fate.

Anyway, I found this on my local craigslist. If it is accurate, its probably too late to do anything for the mare, but I just found it.

"I bought this mare by accident at yesterday's auction(11/14). Must be gone by 11/16 night.
Unfortunately she is blind. About 100% in her left eye, and about 90%in her right. She is completely blind in the dark.

But she is absolutely the sweetest horse I have ever been around and I hate that this has to happen to her.

My barn owner said she MUST be gone by Monday night (11/16) or else she will have to be euthanized.

SHE IS ABSOLUTELY FREE, you must provide transportation.

She is completely trusting. Doesn't spook at vehicles, things she bumps into, or other horses.
She is a little weary, as expected, and walks cautiously, but she never gives you trouble.

Leads like a dream and is completely broke.
We had young and older kids on her to test her out. She never batted an eye.

She obviously should not be ridden alone. She would be the perfect beginner mare for young kids
to be led around on.
No bad habits or bossy.
Not a typical mare.

If I had the proper place for her, I would definately keep her.

I want her to go somewhere where they will give her the care and attention she needs, as well as more love than she can handle.

She really would need to be kept in a SMALL field or in a stall, as she probably could not find food or water on her own.

Please help me find someone for this mare!

She is absolutely too good of a horse to give up on just yet.
She is still full of life.

Absolutely beautiful red roan quarter horse(?)

Pictures will come soon and also upon request. If you can come out today, that's great!

PLEASE call 891-1469 for any other information.

give this sweetheart a chance. "
