I'm sure that there have been many versions to this post in the past but here I go again. I'm making my Christmas wish list and I really need some new full seat breeches for show. I'm going to put a pair of FITS on there but realistically, that's not going to happen. When I look through the catalogs alot of breeches jump out at me in the $100 range but I don't know how to decide between them.
So why do you guys think?
And are the FITS just so absolutely wonderful that I should hold out for them?
Thanks!
Helen

These are pretty good for that price range

Very flattering on. They are pull on though. These have a zipper and are nice enough to compete in for slightly more

But honestly...I've gotten Pikeur full seats on sale for $150...now those are really nice. ETA here are some on sale http://www.classicdressage.com/acatalog/Pikeur_Sale_Breeches.html

People do love the Fits....I don't have the body that I will EVER attempt to wear them in public no matter how comfortable they are:eek:

I have never worn them, but TOTD (http://www.tackoftheday.com) is having Latigo fullseats for $112

I LOVE my Kerrits fullseats.

I love these, and have found them for less than $100:

Ditto the Irideon Cadence. Don't forget to advise whomever is doing your Xmas shopping about the annual VTO Black Friday and Christmas sales. Last year it was 20% off any order over $100, so they could save quite a chunk of change. Either get on the VTO mailing list or put your Christmas elves on the mailing list so that they'll be sure to catch the sale.

Love the irideon cadence microcords- in addition to the VTO sale which is where I usually get my new ones, if you get the Dover sale catalogue, they are in there not infrequently or at least they were before I swore off of ordering from Dover
The Kerrits cord full seats are nice too and quite similar to the irideons IMO

Cavallo and Pikuer - I get them from a lady on ebay for around $100 a pair + shipping. Her ebay store is Classic Dressage Marabella and her user id is eldragonverde2003. If you e-mail her your size, she'll e-mail you a list of everything that she has (its not always all on ebay) and she has really fast shipping.

The FITS extended patch are FABULOUS. Lots of grip, but no "baboon butt" patches. So technically not full seats, but amazing nonetheless.

(and not under $100 I don't think... but worth it as a treat to yourself if you're willing!)

I finally broke down and bought two pairs of Equessentials. All those stories you hear about them? ya, they are true.
Unbelievable.

I put a thread up on the dressage forum.

Legacy Tack has a few left on Close out which puts them at about 100 bucks.

get them QUICK if they are in your size.

I'm ruined for life now. I can't imagine ever riding in anything else.

HER - I think it depends on your shape, as to what fits and feels right.
The kentuckys, Devonaire, and Trainers just don't fit anyone with the extra padding - in my experience. I've got sort of a stovepipe look, I'm thick in the middle. I really like the Kerrits pull on full seats and I ordered and tried on them, the Irideons, and a couple of Ariat styles. The Kerrits seemed to fit best. I have a friend who is tall with thick thighs but nipped in waist and she fits in the Irideons perfectly and loves them.
I have another friend who has recently had a baby change her shape and she's pretty happy with Kerrits too.
Tuff Rider, Goode Rider - no luck with these, cannot fit in them, they seem cheap anyhow.
Anyone else have shape / style matches?

Are you looking for schooling/ everyday breeches or show breeches?

I finally splurged and bought a pair of FITS full seat zip front breeches and have worn them once on xc at a show. I wore them for a few hours after I was done riding and they started irritating my legs. And I washed them when I got home (with the fancy leather therapy detergent) and they still looked dirty. So I'm not 100% on the FITS bandwagon yet... at least for the money, and hesitate at purchasing another pair.

I really like Mountain Horse breeches (I don't know if they sell them anymore), they have held up really well and very comfortable. Also like the Ovation Euroweave full seat breeches too for schooling and shows. Another favorite of mine is Eurostar and Cavallo breeches.

But those are my favorites that you can get for about 100 or close to 100.

I have a pair of Ovation full seats that I adore. Got them from Dover (don't know if they still have them though) for about $90. Love them lots.

I really like Dover's brand of breeches, including their SUPER SHMEXY blue/tan plaid fullseats. I think they run around $80, but are frequently on sale for $70- GREAT deal.

I am a huge Tropical Riders fan. I usually get them on clearance.
They are really long (I am 5' 11" and I can wear either regular or long length). And they fit my thick knees.
The off the rack Equissentials do not work for me - I would have to go with custom measurements. I can wear Iridions but they are short waisted for me.

Ditto on the Ariat Fairfax. The fabric is really forgiving, and the full seat is thinner than most (in a good way). They're all I wear for shows nowadays.

It's like saddles or helmets, VERY much a personal preference based on how they fit. Me, anything made by Dublin seems to fit me great and their prices are very fair. Unfortunately the other great fit for me is Golden Dress, and those cost a FORTUNE. I scour ebay and get lucky every now and then. ;)

I love my Irideon Cadence Micro-cord full seat breeches. They fit like a glove and come in a longer length for long legged riders, which I love and you cant find in the Kerrits. I have had one pair for over 2 years now and they are still holding up great. They dont stain easily either ;)

Tuff Riders (I checked the label today)

http://breeches.com/Full-Seats-brand-1-cat-5_24_44.html

My full-seats are quite light & breathable in summer, & have survived several summers with me being a working student - never stain, machine wash normally.

I bought a second pair just in case they were too good to be true - I'm probably set now for many years!
