Is there anything more wicked looking than a Bot FlY??? ICK!!! Anyway - every kind of fly repelant I have used repels most flys except the bots..and my poor boy will trot in figure 8's when a bot fly is after him (when he is in turn-out) He does not even get mad at me when I have to slap him (hard) to kill a fly that has landed on him!
Any suggestions?

I have never seen a bot fly land on a horse.
They hover near their target and shoot the eggs out of their tailshaft.
It is that hovering and buzzing that will send a lot of horses into a tailspin. My friend has a horse that would rather have a stand-off with a pack of lions as to hear a bot fly close by
Generally, fly spray is not successful in keeping them away.
