I am moving down to Texas for college in the spring. I have an equitation horse I need to get leased out. I've put up ad's but no bites. Does anyone have suggestions of a trainer I could send him to that has a large clientele and could help me get him leased out? I want a reputable person that takes good care of the horses, is a straight shooter (no wheeler dealers please- been there dealt with that!!), and won't jump my horse to death. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Nancy Frost, we send a lot of ponies her way and they always get leased out.

I wouldn't send an eq. horse to Texas. There's just not a big enough market for it here.

I second what Tha Ridge said - if you want your horse in TX, I would suggest trying to market it as a ch/ad jumper instead.

Where in Texas are you going to school? Do you want your horse near you? The Texas Hunter Jumper Association (THJA) website has trainers listed by location as Texas is a big state. There are those in Texas that do equitation.

If you do that, expect to knock about $50k+ off the price. Very few people will pay $150k for a Ch/AA Jumper, yet people will expect to pay that for a decent eq. horse.
