I got the info from my feed dealer tonight.

Looks like BS is about to launch a new line called Sentinel.

Anyone know anything about it? Same stuff, different bag or different stuff?

I really like the Performance LS.

There had better be some free coupons or at LEAST a T-Shirt for us loyal LS fans.:D

What!!!!

I JUST switched the whole barn onto Blue Seal...and feed the Vintage LS to my hardkeepin' TB boarders...have been very happy with the results. Hope Blue Seal is available at Equine Affaire this weekend...

Blue Seal has stopped making several horse feeds over the yrs. They seem to always bring out a new one to keep everyone happy. They used to have a feed called Pacer, one called Stampede, oh, I can't think of the rest of them but there were more. I've used them since 1969 and have always found one to make me happy, Im sure they'll continue to please. It is tough once you find one you like and have to switch though.

I just switched to vintage senior, and just found out two days ago!
There are some changes to it. I wish I had known, I would have waited or maybe not even switched. arghh.
I wish they had mentioned it earlier to the public.

We just had the BS rep out to our barn recently. THe way she explained it to me is that they're "enhancing" products, not doing away with them. My understanding is that the Performance LS will continue, not sure about the others since the LS was the only thing we were interested in.

Some of them they are renaming after making a few minor enhancements. This information came from my feed dealer who went to the dealer meeting so that Blue Seal could explain the changes and re-naming of some of the products.

The also upgraded their extruder machines, supposed to be better than the old machines.

I'm just hoping my horses like the changes to the Senior feed, as it took a lot of trial and error to find one that they liked and was good for them.

I like Blue Seal, and have faith that whatever they are doing is for the better.

Just got back from the feed store, and here is the scoop. Blue Seal is renaming some of their Vintage Products to Sentinel, (as in "we are the Sentinel for your horse"). Only those feeds that are truely extruded are being renamed and improved, they did some studies to find an extrusion process that helps retain the vitamin efficiency in the product.

Some of their other Vintage products are a combination of extruded and other feeds, I think those are staying the same name, not 100% sure.

Also, they are coming out with a new feed that has joint supplements in it (MSM, chondroitin, glucosamine) since so many horse owners are supplementing with it, I guess they are going with the "all in one" concept for that product.

Yes, they are coming out with Sentinel. And yes, they are at the Equine Affaire.

Those of you who feed Performance LS do not have to worry.

They will be adding joint support to one of their feeds and a pro biotic as well. The pro biotic might be added to the senior feed, I can't remember. It is sprayed on after the feed is made.

I feed BS as well and am looking forward to Sentinel. I will probably keep feeding Carb Guard but I am always seeing what other options are out there.

Ug, so far so good for me & the Vintage Victory--only soy HULLS no soy protein, and no alfalfa.

I don't have the storage to get the amount of rolled beep and whole oats that I need to get to get the same kind of discount I can get on 10 bags of VV.

Just hope they don't do away with hay stretcher.

Just got back from EA, and yup, the enhancements of LS look great.

I've fed other low starch/high fat feeds, but the LS has been the best.

The LT does look very interesting though....

My horses would be so mad at BS if they stopped making Hay Stretcher!!!!

The Sentinel line offers amino acids, probiotics, lysine within a nutrient release formula. If you currently feed the Vintage Performance LS (I also feed this) you can make a seamless transition from this grain to the Sentinel Performance LS. Also, for those of you who feed Glucosamine Chondroitant supplements, the Life Time formula offers a built-in joint supplement. Their probiots, in all feeds to aid in easy and effective digestibility, is added to the feed [I]after[I] is has been prepared and cooked so the probiots are not killed or damaged. Other companies add them in during processing.

I am really excited to be a part of this new product! My gelding will transfer to the Sentinel Performance LS and my new yearling is now on their Grow and Excel. Feel free to email me if you have questions or would like an analysis by their nutritions.
