A guy at my barn has a nice OTTB whose identity has eluded him. The tattoo has defeated me too.

Here's what we know:

Horse was purchased in 2006, they were told it was 8 at that time.

Horse is a dark bay/brown gelding. New info: Has a very faint star:

Has two socks behind, the left has distinctive black 'freckles':

Here is a link to photos of the tattoo. Once you get to the page with the photos, if you click each thumbnail, it will enlarge.

The owner believes the first letter is an A - it's hard to read from these pictures. Heck, IMHO they're all hard to read ...
Thanks in advance!

A06450 is Pal's Prince (http://www.pedigreequery.com/index.php?query_type=horse&search_bar=horse&h=PALS+PRINCE&g=5&p=0&f=1&l=), a 1997 dark bay gelding with white on left hind heel, higher on inside, double diagonal cowlick above eye level, higher on right. Ran entirely at Canterbury Park from June 00 through August 02 for breeder/owner Patrick Crawley.

boy, that sure sounds like him. I'll steal a look at his forehead tonight. Thank you, Barnfairy!

My bad - the gelding has two socks behind, not one as I originally indicated. And he also has a very, very faint star (about 11 white hairs). New links in the OP include a shot of his face, and the whole horse. He also has distinctive black 'freckles' in his socks.

Thanks again for any assistance you can provide in deciphering this tattoo and this guy's identity.

He's a good boy, steady and willing, ridden by his young teen rider, and doted on by her daddy. (They're all so cute!)

Thanks!

Is this a possibility? That fourth number really does NOT look like a 7 though.

Left hind: coronet and part of pastern white, higher in back; dark spots on coronet. Right hind: coronet and part of pastern white, higher in back; dark spots on coronet. Double horizontal cowlick above eye level; median cowlick above eye level.
