Have an older horse that I'm bringing into work. He trips a lot more than any horse I've ever had. It is always the right hind, it seems like sometimes he just doesn't get it under his body in time. It is better the more often I work him, also if I'm really careful about keeping him forward and balanced - he tends to want to be lazy and also hang on the right rein. It's worse in small circles or if I turn too sharply to the right. He was terrible to canter at first, this is coming along better now that he is getting fit.
Also gets worse right before shoeing. He's on a 6 week cycle and I am considering going to 5 weeks. He has rocker shoes in front and is squared off behind due to forging problems.
