Well, my Feiner Stern/Diamont/Darwin mare passed her Mare Performance Test with AHS with flying colors. 7.97 total with an 8.5 for jumping. Now, she needs to produce a foal to finish her Elite Mare status.

I've decided I'll breed her this spring and get it done before she goes on further in her dressage career. Here's a link to a page of photos of her. I'll add video clips later today.

I'd like to improve the legs a bit in the foal. Fancy toes very slightly in on one front and has that odd little "twist" in one leg in back as she steps off. So, sire MUST be very correct and prepotent for good legs. She still got 6s and 7s on her legs, but they could be better.

Otherwise, she is picture perfect (to me).

What are your thoughts for Hanoverian-approved stallions for her?

I think you would be really happy with her crossed with the Hanoverian approved stallion Schroeder (Sandro Hit x Escudo I). The babies are doing really well and he has really good legs, very correct. We have a special this month for bookings in November. $200 off if you book (booking fee $300) and then for quality mares like yours you get another $200 off. So, $400 off the total stud fee of $1200, leaves an $800 stud fee. Check him out.

Not to hijack the thread but I just love your mare, I *think* I saw her born on cam and have kept up with her on your website. I can't wait to see what lovely foals she produces.

Not being sure of availability or price range:
His Highness (http://www.allbreedpedigree.com/his+highness6)(is a Hohenstein and Feiner cross) probably dam expensive
His H. sons
Hoftanz
Hendrix
Hochfein (http://www.allbreedpedigree.com/index.php?query_type=horse&h=HOCHFEIN&g=5&cellpadding=0&small_font=1&l=) (which is line bred back to Fein again interestingly enough)
Hohenstien (TK) of course
Hochadel (http://www.allbreedpedigree.com/hochadel)(Holstein, Donnerhall) high index on limbs and dressage and with your mare would make up the crosses that went into His H.

Contucci is a Caprimond son

Brentano ll (G-line and TB)
Caprimond (TK)

Feiner Stern mares seem to cross well with Sandro Hit and Donnerhall, so what about looking at their sons? I have also seen really lovely Wolkentanz II and Fabuleux foals from Feiner Stern mares. If your mare is the heavy type, you may get a heavy-ish foal, though, from some of these stallions.

Also, regarding the "twist" in her hind legs - you would want to carefully evaluate the stallions walking toward you and away to make sure they are not base narrow as this trait often causes horses to rotate their hind leg to the outside as they push off.

Rebecca, she is lovely!! I too remember when she was born! congrats with her scores!

I will also have to suggest Benidetto for her, Slightly more refinement, very correct legs in all his foals, pretty, and super necksets!

Also have a special for SPA mares!
and he is here in the US now

Sincerely

Linda, I actually had thought about Benidetto. Can you send me a video of him so I can look more?

Kathy, you too. Can you send me video of Schroeder? I hadn't considered him, as when thinking Sandro Hit sons I had been thinking of Sonnagskind, a stallion I've watched since he was a foal.

And Hohenstien is on my list, too! As is Rubignon and Dicaprio.

I agree with DY about the Donnerhall/Feiner Stern/Sandro Hit crosses, so what about Sir Donnerhall? His FN ranking went through the roof this year and is now higher than his daddy's, and he does have that leggy look.

I have to recommend Benidetto, also. My mare is very lovely and perfect to me, but her front legs weren't quite correct. Belissimo M improves legs and Benidetto, his son, corrected my mare's legs. My filly is leggy and has perfect confirmation(according to the German judge) at inspection. Nice temperament, too. Peg
