I'm hoping to get some recommendations of an all inclusive horsey vacation in California. My sister and I would like to take a 4-5 day vacation and would like to do some trail riding and some day hikes. A quiet place where we can relax and catch up. My sister has a fear of flying and doesn't want to drive too far so I have to go to her instead of her coming to me in Wyoming where dude ranches are a plenty. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.

Where in CA? It is 800+ miles from north to south boarder.

If you are intersted in the general bay area, I would recomend my neck of the woods!

We have amazing beaches, miles and miles of mountains and woods, including old growth redwoods.small town with nationally renowned restaurant, cheese maker and mountain wineries.

Best part? Not crowded, you can expect to have beaches and trails to yourself. We are surrounded by state and county parks (including a lighthouse), along with wild life reserves.

Any way the town is called pescadero, there are a number of B&Bs in town, costanoa (camping and resort) is nearby and offers rides on well taken care of Tennessee walkers

I was just going to suggest Costanoa because I've been dying to take a trail ride on their TWH for ages!

There are also multiple outfits in the Sierras, check out www.hiddentrails.com for a very large list of horse vacations in CA (and all over the world for future trips, like riding to the chateaus of the Loire Valley in France. Um, yea...dream vacation much?)
