My vet returned home on the weekend from a Standardbred sale he was asked to attend in PA for a client.

I asked him how the sale went and he said the garbage yearlings with so-so pedigrees and questionable conformation either didnt sell at all, or sold extremely cheaply but the well bred youngsters with excellent functional conformation sold for between 20-25% MORE than their pedigrees dictated they should be selling for.

I found that interesting as well as great to hear as well, that the breeders that have done their homework and produced not only "pedigree desirable" youngstock, are also paying attention to the conformational aspect also, and they are now reaping the rewards by good returns on their investment as a direct result ... :)

Hopefully this same positive outcome will reflect on the TB and Sport Horse sales moving forward as well ...
