I hosted a cross country jump building seminar this past weekend with Jon Wells as the clinician. We had about 10 local people and a few from as far away as upstate New York and our own Subk from Nashville, TN.
Not only did Subk come up and spend a lovely weekend that resulted in two new jumps for the IEA HT and a cool new training table for me, she won the door prize and took home a sweet black cat. :D She even did it on purpose!
Subk--I hope the cat stayed in the box on the trip & not on the leather upholstery.

Umm...no. The cat did not stay in the box we put her in. While swinging around the Indy loop at 70 mph I had one hand on the wheel and the other around the scruff of her neck trying to push her back in. Managed to get pulled over, grabbed the spare box you gave me, stuffed her in that and was on my way again. For about 15 minutes.

She escaped the second box and crawled around my lap, my legs, my head. The GPS did not fail me, and we found a Wal-Mart a couple miles off I-65 and I am now not only the proud new owner of a new kitty, but also a new plastic kitty carrier.

Kitty has a been re-christened as "Miss Zobbe."

But the jump building clinic was great. I've already been to Amazon this morning checking out tool prices. Looks like it's going to be another "Skip The Jewelry and Go Straight to the Tool Department Christmas" for my hubby. Who needs girl stuff when there are impact drivers out there you don't own?

Seriously a great weekend.

LAZ - did she take the black/white kitty known to us as "Miss Kitty"? If so, I am so happy Miss Kitty has a new barn of her own to play in! She's such a sweetie and probably using up her 9 lives with the spotty dogs:-)

Subk - I was the one on the new gray OTTB, it was a pleasure to meet you this weekend! Outside of the kitty escape tactics, I hope you had a safe trip home.

I'm so, so happy for Miss Kitty that she found a safe new home, but I didn't get to say good-bye! I had gotten pretty attached to the sweet little thing. I have been trying to find her a home for months so I'm glad things finally worked out for her.

SubK, when I drove her to the vet to get spayed she escaped the box I had her in so apparently, she's quite an escape artist. She also likes to curl up on warm, fuzzy drafty horse bottoms for a snooze if you happen to have a patient, apple-bottomed pony around.

I was out at the barn on Saturday with my two mutt-dogs riding my Clyde cross. We didn't get introduced but I'm glad you enjoyed the weekend!

ROTFLMAO--I hate that for you.

I forgot to tell you that I use a little box that looks very similar to one of those plastic pencil sharpeners. Mine was made by Dewalt & has a great variety of bits in it. You'll still have to buy a torx bit, but it's handy to have something pocket sized to keep your most used bits in.

Well, you are more than welcome to come down any time to visit her! She has made herself at home, and declared herself queen of the barn. She has just the right amount of royal distain for the 10 week old kitten we already have.

LAZ I found some 6" Timberlocks at Home Depot today! The biggest quantity was 50 for $32. How does .65 cents a piece compare to the bucket price? I thought 50 was a pretty good number to start with, and now I can begin this week without waiting to order them. 6x6s tomorrow! BN Log on skids is first up.

My last order I just got 8's and 4's, and they work out to .386 ea & .264 ea, respectively, not including shipping, which was $16.79 total, so add another .03 each. Looks like a much better deal to buy from Trav if you're going to build much.
