Advertising Side Bar

How do I minamize the new expanded wider overly large side bar w/ advertising? Its very distracting when reading text on forums.
While respecting Advertizers help to finance such boards the size has been almost doubled and once you've seen the ads can you minamize them???

That's not a current option, but feel free to add your suggestion/input to the feedback thread stickied at the top of Off Course. We'll be tweaking the format in response to feedback, though I can't promise specific changes that can be made.
