I am looking for info about the Devon Grand Champions for the past 10 years. Here is what I have so far.

2009 - Perfect Qredit, Oldenburg (GOV) yearling colt, bred in U.S.
2008 - Starlight, Oldenburg (GOV) stallion, bred in Germany
2007 - Bien Sir ISF, KWPN, yearling colt, bred in U.S.
2006 - Rabiola, KWPN mare, bred in Holland
2005 - Liberty Gold, Hanoverian stallion, bred in Germany
2004 - Ocita, Holsteiner mare, bred in U.S.
2003 - Tamika DG, KWPN mare, bred in U.S.
2002 - M. Ecloir, KWPN mare, bred in Holland
2001 - Capricia, Hanoverian mare, bred in Germany
2000 - Petra, KWPN, 2 y/o filly, bred in U.S.

Can you folks help me fill in the blanks?

Edited to correct some info and add missing info. Thanks, all!

Pretty sure it was 2000 when Willy Arts and I took Petra, a then 2-year old grey Dutch filly bred by DG Bar and owned by me, and she ended up winning the Grand Championship.

2003 Tamika DG, Dutch WB mare (Wanroij x Werther), bred by DG Bar in the US.

2002 M. Ecloir, Dutch WB mare (Amethyst x J'Eclair x Boreas), imported. Owned at the time by Foal’s Paradise Farm; breeder unknown.

Regarding 2001, I believe Rodioso was Grand Stallion Champion, but I think EM Capricia, Hanoverian mare (Caprimond x Lungau), then owned by Hilltop and bred in Germany by Klaus Storbeck, was overall Grand Champion, but I may be mistaken. I also *think* Capricia is a full sister to Contucci, but am not sure.

I believe she is the full sister too.

What about the grey stallion Hokan brought? Stonefire or something like that. I thought he was also GC?

I think you mean Winterset or Wintersong? The filly that they sent back to Germany? She was wonderful!

Wintermaske is my own homebred mare and we have yet to get to Devon.

Capricia is the full sister of Contucci. I was at the elite auction when she was to go through and I was looking forward to seeing her. But she never made it to the ring. Her name was different when in Germany. I don't have the auction catalog handy. But I was sorta surprised when she turned up a short while later at Hilltop. I think Jane Hannigan is showing her now. Also, I don't think she was ever grand champion at Devon, but won the Hanoverian IBC.

Also, yes, Wintersong by Weltmeyer was grand champion in 1993 shown by Jorg Clasen, and I see he has started posting here occasionally.

.

Capricia was definitely Mature Horse Champion at Devon. The AHS lists her as being one of the Hanoverians that won the Grand Champion title (along with Liberty Gold, etc) but that might be incorrect.

Contester (Contender x Lancetto) was reserve Grand Champion to Tamika DG in 2003. Contester is a Holsteiner stallion bred in Germany by Gestut Charlottenhof and at the time owned by ADARA Partners and standing at DG Bar. Willy Arts presented him. Contester also won the Mature Horse class that year.

Is BoPeep the B line mare that someone referred to in the '90's? I know she was in the Grand Championship (I remember the stallion that got loose and Rebecca scared that he was going to breed BP right then) but I don't remember if she won the GC or not. She is by Banter.

It was Wintersong, that won and is owned by Marefield Meadows out of Moira (Matcho)by Weltmeyer.

Wintersong (Weltmeyer x Matcho AA) was the yearling filly owned by Marefield; she was Grand Champion in 1993, shown by Joerg Clasen.

Also, I believe Petra (by Junior) was Grand Champion in 1999 (not 2000, as indicated above). As mentioned before, the then 2 year old filly was owned by Siegi B. and bred by DG Bar.

Grand Champion in 1997 and 2000 was Juventus, by Dublin out of Aphrodite (Principaal), a Dutch WB owned by Iron Spring Farm.

See http://www.horsesdaily.com/news/scoresource/2000/sept/00dev/20_gch.html

Interestingly, one stallion was named Grand Champion at DAD four times - in 1985, 1986, 1991, and 1992 - Anriejetto (Afrikaner xx x Tako), a Dutch WB stallion. Apparently his sire was a thoroughbred. He is the only horse to have won that title 4 times (and as far as I know the most any other horse has won it is twice). http://web.vet.cornell.edu/public/cuerp/Anriejetto.htm

Does anyone know the 1996 GC at DAD?
Was that Balalaika's year? Bellefleur might know : )
