What would you as a potential buyer want to see in a sales video for a weanling? What to include? Not include? What do you hate to see too much of? Not enough of? Do you want to see them being handled or only moving at liberty?

Thanks!

I bought a foal at about 1m old based on just at liberty footage w/t/c/g in the field with mom and also next to mom being led up and down a lane. I also saw confo pics. I did not see him in person, paid a pretty hearty price for a foal in NA, and have no regrets at all.

Certainly showing the foal's basic conformation from both sides, front and back on the video may be useful, so that could be done while being handled to show he/she has manners, but I think movement, confo, and bloodlines are the main sellers at that age. They are still young enough to be handled and trained the way the buyer chooses. JMHO.

I second that. Slow motion footage is my biggest pet peeve!!

I received several DVDs in my hunt for a weaner this Summer. I can't tell you how much footage I got of the Sproing (I even had a thread on that - how much can you judge by the Sproing?), and what was even WORSE was 6 seconds of a filly moving from one spot to another

or the foal was zooooooming around - I know they can run fast, don't need to see that ;)

*I* wanted to see the dam (if still on her) being trotted in-hand so the foal would do something halfway controlled. Or, if the foal was already weaned, see him being trotted in hand. THEN he could be let loose to see what would happen.

The Zoomies and the Sproingies don't help me much ;)

At liberty - trot and canter; moving straight toward/away from the camera; stand-up side view; being handled (showing cooperation); NO slow motion.
