In regards to Cooper. he'll be back! It just takes time. But time seems to take forever sometimes.

But I'm a happy camper right now.
But boy I've paid my dues!!

I have a new 4 year old to campaign. He's jumped a hand full of times and we took him to his first schooling HT this weekend (BN). He topped the dressage with a 28. Had a rail in SJ. I turned to the first fence and his eyes popped out but he kept going. The in and outs scared him too.
His name is Harry Houdini and he's from the trakehner stallion Tzigane *Pb*. Awesome little kid. Belongs to the stallions owner, Kim Hunter.

The lil guy's school over SJ fences last month:

We plan on the YEH5 with him and hopefully finish at Galway with the T3D next year. : )

My big grey horsie:
16 months of 'in stall care' really takes it outta ya. Up at 5am for a walk, 6pm for a walk, and then 11pm for a walk. Walk, walk, walk gets old really fast. I've been doing it since Aug of 2008. Well, I ponied him with the golf cart. So now he only leads on my left side. Kinda funny.

But the horse is sound and a little too hot for me these days! Suddenly he's mentally aware that it's time to do something other than stand around. He doesn't stand so well anymore.
My incredibly QUIET TB is now full of you know what. I've had my butt busted on the ground and now I've had to dismount twice as soon as possible. More like, um...when your front feet touch down I'd like to emergency dismount please! So we ride with ace right now. Ace saved my bootie the other day when our pasture horses started running about.
And he even gets turned out on the weekends now. Makes me so happy.

here is a pic of his 1st canter after 16 months of walk and a bit of trot. : )

Tom got this pic just in the nick of time. Right after I started bawling my eyes out. lol.

16 months off was no fun. But I feel like I have a life to look forward to again. I really thought I might have been done.
Glad to be back in the middle of the fun. XC was just amazing yesterday.

hope you guys enjoyed the fun schooling pics. I love 'at home' pics of the critters.

Awesome! The new guy is beautiful, and I love your "bawling" photo!
I just caved with my 7 months of "stall care" horse and turned him out with a quiet pony. His leg blew up, but he's unmanageable even on ace these days. He'll have the winter of turnout and we'll see what we're dealing with in the spring.
Can you remind me what the injury was on your guy? Mine was a high hind suspensory.
Congrats, btw!

Gosh, you still have the best leg position I have ever seen! Goodness!

I am so happy for you...and can't wait to hear more stories!

The bay is lovely and I bet you have a terrific young horse year ahead of you! Was that his wee voice calling out in dressage???

Congrats for making it through. I am dealing with my own right now, and I know how fun stall rest & rehab can be. Just finished up speaking to the vet to get "better drugs" so I can stop being dragged around and actually accomplish our hand-walking routine  Only delayed my program by 6 weeks...

Thank goodness I have a willing friend/owner who needs one of hers worked, or I'd pretty much be insane right now. (2 horses on stall rest is taking its toll.)

Congratulations, that is wonderful!

I know you've had a very long and difficult downtime with Boomer. Harry looks a super lovely horse too.

golf carts are your friend.

though I was pulled out and face planted it once or twice. lol.
It really is tough dishing out so much time and money and not knowing if he'll be back full stride or not.
but it's a chance that has to be taken.

My heart aches hard for Jennie right now. To have one at the top and then be forced into months and months of rehab.
I'm glad my horse broke before I moved him up.
If I had just tasted the big stuff it would have been even harder.

Hopefully Harry can play with the big boys and Boomer can back him up.
That is the plan now.
Gatta have two. sigh.

Boom's 1st job is to get going in the hunters and then hit the hunter derbies.

He had better and we will! We are talking about meeting up in May, right? Because I have to travel for work during the April Hoochie Trial.

Correct. The one with the FEI divisions.
: )
Our HTs are done here by May 1st. So that is when we start hiking cross country for some XC fun!

April is a little soon for the broken horse. I probably won't start jumping him until Feb/March.
