We are compiling a list of trainers on the Horsemen With Disabilities forum and could use all the help we can get from all disciplines.

If you are, know of, or ride with a trainer who is willing to work with NQR riders, could you please post over on the Horsemen With Disabilities forum. We are attempting to compile a list of potential trainers who will work with handicapped riders. Too keep the thread somewhat easy to use, please put the state in the title. In the message, please include contact info if you have it along with the trainer's specialty.

Thank you so much. Your help is truly appreciated :)

This is a shameless bump. There are riders out there who need trainers. People range from recovering from an injury all the way to Para. There are also riders who suffer from learning disabilities, etc. Please help out if you can!

I think there are several trainers out there , who currently work with a student or two that may have some sort of disability , but since they are not trained in that field , they may feel uncomfortable promoting themselves in this area. I have seen trainers in my area work with hearing impaired riders, physical disabilities, and learning disabilities but they teach these riders as a matter of course integrating them into their regular programs by tweaking some of there teaching methods to suit their individual disability. We have Handicapped programs in our area but they don't go to shows with riders.

That would be good to note.

+1 to Mikes MCS. I have students with learning disabilities and a few physical handicaps, but its not my specialty and I have no training specific to that kind of need. I'm willing to alter my program to accommodate anyone who is dedicated, but I'm not a specialist in this area by any means.
