I'll be spending close to a month there over the winter and don't want to not ride for a month. I won't be bringing my horse with me, so I'm looking for somewhere with lesson horses. I know I'm only a couple of hours away from Raleigh, but I don't think I'll make it up there often. Thanks!

What level do you ride at, or I guess, what level are you looking at taking lessons at ;) Wilmington's kind of an armpit, but there are a few good barns here, however most are going to be a little ways drive from Wilmington city limits. Wonderland Farms in Leland (about a 20 min drive from Wilmington) is great, also check out Magnolia Farms, and Blossom Ferry, both in Castle Hayne.
I'm in the heart of Wilmington and have a gelding that you're is welcome to come ride if you just need that horse fix.

I'm the trainer at Sunny Reins Stables right outside of Wilmington- very small show barn. Half the barn is leased out by dressage trainer Anne Reid, the other half belongs to the BO. She's got a few ponies for her daughter, and I have one other student who boards with us. I'm sure you could come and ride the BO's personal mare- she's nothing fancy, but if you are just looking for something to get on she needs the exercise! PM me if you are interested.

Thanks both of you! My family just moved there and I'm going home for winter break from school for a few weeks before going to HITS to watch my trainer compete and maybe school a catchride or something casual like that. I just want to make sure I'm not totally rusty. It would be great to ride with a pro while in NC but I don't need anything fancy. My parents live close to Echo Hill in wilmington and I know I've seen some white-fenced pastures with horses there but I'm not sure if it's a public place or not.
