So I usually use no-bows for standing wraps on my mare, but I needed something cheap and small for occasional use on the pony. I found some 12" pillow wraps on sale and bought them and they came today... they're really fluffy! I haven't tried them on the pony yet, but I'm afraid she'll look and feel like she's wearing a little kid's pool floaties! If I wash them and throw them in the dryer, do they de-fluff a bit? May be a silly question, but will Pony be comfortable dressed as a big maroon marshmellow??

Have you washed them yet? Usually a couple of times through the washer gets rid of some of the loft.

After washing (and drying) try squishing the quilts up and wrapping them tight with your bandages - this will help to deflate them prior to use.

I think they are okay and they'll definately reduce after washing and use. I still prefer no-bows as I think I can get a better fit - they mold to the leg better and keep whatever hot/cold application you are trying to work with close to the leg. I also think that pillow wraps can encourage a bandage chewer go to work on the wraps.

I always use flannels with my no-bows to help insulate the linament/alcohol, etc. that I'm using increasing its effectiveness.,
