Any ideas on what might cause a horse to crane it's neck around to the right when eating something crunchy?! I have noticed this in my gelding maybe twice in the past month. Once while in the pasture eating an apple, and this morning, after I gave him a Mrs. Pastures cookie. It's almost like he is doing a carrot stretch, to the right, nearly touching his nose to his rib cage.

I don't feel anything, don't see anything. He eats his grain/hay normally that I know of. He is not losing weight. He did have a fractured mandible several years ago that healed on its own (according to my vet). I don't know if I should call the vet?? The dentist?? Chiro? Any thoughts?

Sometimes my boy's TMJ is out or his atlas is a little off kilter. My chiro usually can help him out. If it is TMJ, I would find a good equine dentist to look into it as well.
