Any opinions?

What has the greatest warmth for the least bulk?

Has anyone tried the underarmour gloves like they wear for football, etc? Are they warm?

I thought the SSG soft touch Silk lined gloves were great for winter riding. They are not ideal for uber cold temps (lets say less than 30 degrees) but they are very close contact, fairly warm and look nice too.

I use deer skin roping gloves. Not as good as furry lined gloves, but I can't stand the bulk on those. The deer skin gloves can usually be found at western or feed stores. Not cheap, but they wear forever, even under the worst abuse. I'm always complaining about cold hands and feet - these gloves do a pretty good job of keeping my hands warm without any loss of feel on the reins.

This!

I have them, love them, and have purchased a pair for all the wonderful horse women in my life for Christmas presents. They love them too!

I have the ariat winter gloves and I have used the ssg mane event gloves. I much stalls in my gloves then ride and I ride down into the lower 20s- teens. The gloves lasted about 3 - 4 years each maybe a little more with all that use. Very warm.

I love the Roeckl winter ones if you can find them here... Actually, maybe they aren't even in North America??

Deer skin gloves are the BEST! Although my favorite brand doesn't exist anymore. I even used to show in those things despite the fact that they were yellow. I'm sure it looked odd but I hated riding in anything else. For really cold weather I LOVE riding mittens, although it doesn't work if you have two set of reins.
