After many months of amazing progress, we are experiencing a dramatic set back.
Woke up this morning to my gelding pacing his paddock like he had seen a ghost. And to boot, he was pacing his stablemate around with him like "oh my gosh, we need to get away!" He stopped long enough to eat breakfast and that was it. He has drank very little water, is stressed to the max and wide eyed. This was a weekly issue for us, and now today it has reared its ugly head.
It is possible he got spooked over the night, as it was evident they were pacing for awhile based on how torn up the wet paddock is. So now, I have locked in his buddy so I have taken away the stuck like glue herd issue. That calmed him down some. I have gotten him to drink a little. Need to get some wet beet and electrolytes into him next. And he is munching. All with the help of a tube of calm and cool.
Just needed to chat... I'm bummed out today. Wish I could help him, but this is the best I can do....
