Sadly, I've been driving in a loose ring snaffle or a kimberwick. I need a driving bit. I haven't a clue which one to buy or where from?

How do you even choose which one? What's the safest bet for a pony? I plan to buy from drivingessentials.com if I can. And hoping for a liverpool. I just like the look of them.

I would start with a liverpool with the same mouthpiece as the kimberwicke you have been using. Is it a plain kimberwicke or a uxeter one? If it is plain or you use the top slot I would first try going either o the ring or around the post of the liverpool. If you use the bottom slot of the kimberwicke I would try the first slot of the liverpool

There's nothing wrong with driving in a Kimberwick (an Uxeter is actually what you have, according to your photo). Both of my Haflingers were started in low-port Uxeters and I'd probably still be using them if I'd been able to find them in 5.75" and 6" which is what they needed when they matured. I know many people who drive in Kimberwicks/Uxeters. Perfectly acceptable.

Now, if the horse isn't going well in this bit, that's a different story. I don't think you mentioned that. So, does he like his present bit or not?
