I'm so bummed! After not having a trainer for a year, so no lessons, just trying not to back pedal, I finally had a great lesson with a new trainer on Sunday. It went so well, and I was so proud of both myself and my horse! Really looking forward to the new opportunities. Then, I threw my back/neck out Monday morning. Been to the chiro 2x, set to go again tomorrow. Couldn't ride today on a bet! I can barely walk-what a bummer!!! The only saving grace is that I had such a great ride before her having a few days off, but I was the most motivated I've felt in months. Damnit!!

Aahhh, that sux! I just had the same thing happen last month. Was getting going well with the four year old and doing some light riding on the three year old when the latter tripped and I went over her head. Messed up my neck too so I didn't ride for almost three weeks and when I did I still wasn't comfortable enough to do much. Once I felt better and more supple I went to visit my friend in PA which had already been planned, came home to four days of rain, and am getting ready to leave for two weeks in Hawaii. And actually feel bad about going because there's some good riding weather coming up! But I'll get over it once we leave. :)
I went to the chiro twice a week for a couple weeks and now just once a week.
BUt hopefully you'll be back on board soon! Oh, and I too have a new instructor so although it was going well for most of the summer it rots that the riding stopped. I had just started jumping my older mare again and she had a big abcess so that ended shortly before my fall too. I had just painted some planks and a brush box for some new jumps and didn't get to use them yet.
