Any ideas what I can do here? Truck went in for repairs and came out with fairly significant damage to front bumper. The thing is, I didn't document its condition when I dropped it off (who does??). And, when I picked it up, they brought it in the shop, opened the door for me and I got in, drove it outside and parked it to pick up that evening (all without looking at the front). I picked it up in the dark and didn't notice until I got it home under the lights.

The shop is reputable and deals in a lot of very high end vehicles (there was a Mazerati, a classic Jag, etc. in there this trip) - so it's not the type of place you worry about this stuff. Or, at least, I didn't.

I called them this morning and the receptionist told me there is no way they did anything to the car - I must have done it. The owner told me to bring it by and he'd look at it, but claimed it couldn't have happened in his shop.

Any ideas??

That really stinks. I always do a walk around my truck when I pick it up. Due to past experiences, I'm always convinced that dealerships are going to hose me one way or another and I'm paranoid. Plus they make me sign off when I drop it off that there is no damage to it to begin with. Good luck, I hope they get it sorted out for you. Is it possible that someone did something to it after hours when the shop was closed?

Been there done that. Took my trailer for tires and the idiots put my tailgate down and then backed my trailer around. Put the trailer up through my tail gate. They all stuck to their story that I did it!

My insurance company went after them, but it was my word against theirs, and three of them lied.

So good luck, but there really is nothing you can do. Take your camera next time and sit with them. :(
