The barn that my daughter rides at is getting in a large Pony Jumper that has competed at Pony Finals and did very well. It can jump 3'6" with ease so it can do both Pony Jumpers and Childrens Jumpers. What is a good price to market a pony such as this? I know a Pony Jumper is harder to market than a Pony Hunter so coming up with a price is difficult, especially in this economy. The pony is located in California. Anyone have experience selling a Pony Jumper?

Depends on age, how easy it is to ride, how it jumps...I had a pony jumper that we sold 2 years ago that went to pony finals and won just about everything there was to win and sold her for 25,000 I believe. Pics or a video may help.....

A lot of the people who have pony jumpers lease them out and don't sell them. They are kind of like a small pony, once you can ride them and show them you've almost outgrown them.

I know that the pony jumpers that have been through our barn and others in the area were leases. Not much of a market for them, hence the lease.

Like the other person said, one that has won a lot only was priced at 25K and I think that is probably correct if not a little high in this economy. At Pony Finals the same ponies seem to be there year after year, it is just the riders that change.

I had one that someone offered us $30,000 for at a show in Missouri. They offered to take the horse right on the spot. The pony had done quite well, usually being champ or reserve at every show and then was zone champ. If you are in California I would nearly double that. I have heard of many pony jumpers selling in the $50,000- $75,000 range especially if did well at pony finals.
