Hi, I don't know if you guys do this on this forum, but I thought that maybe I should introduce myself. I apologize in advance if I make any "new person" mistakes.

I'm Anna, I own three ponies and a horse. I ride English and compete in hunters, jumpers, and equitation. I also occassionally do games and frequently trail ride.

Could anyone tell me which section of the boards I should go to for posting a list of conditions I'd like to put on a lease, for you guys to look over and see if I should add any more? Thanks. :)

Hello Anna. I'm new too :).

Leasing contracts are pretty unique to the owner and the person leasing the horse, not to mention the horse itself. You can put in anything you wish and anything you feel is important. Make sure you have get-out clauses and a list of expectations (ie. how often the horse needs to have his feet done, worming, type of feed etc). Make sure you include the lease price and how it is to be paid. Make sure you have all emergency contact numbers for the person leasing, and that you stipulate that the horse must live at wherever and not be moved without your prior consent. Have them sign and you sign and if possible have an independent witness sign it too.

There is loads of things you can put in a lease agreement - try to be fair though, but make sure you cover your back in case of something going wrong.
