I do think the UK is going to have to move to a system of paying judges but then I think us riders will expect more accountability from paid officials rather than volunteers.

I'm with torontodressage on this.... why would anybody spend $35.00 to hear a 9-minute interview with Stephen Clarke?? It's not like the man is in hiding and rarely talks...:)

Buying him a few beers is probably cheaper.

I don't have to listen to it. I already know what's in it. If someone says it's 'fascinating', it's highly critical, and most likely, critical of the top riders and the 'other judges'.

Nah...nobody's getting 35 bucks out of me to hear Stephen Clarke be 'fascinating'. It's been said many, many times what is wrong today with dressage competitions.

The problem is, no one is offering any solutions. Just myeh, myeh, myeh.

I'd pay Stephen Clarke $35 to talk to me AND I'd buy his drinks :winkgrin:
He is one of the future ODG (and if we are are interpreting that as as 'old dead guys'...may it be very far in the future).
