I hate my job so much I think it is going to kill me :D...not really but I really hate it. I have been looking forever for another and have been unsuccessful. Today I am asking to step down to a position of less responsibility... and less pay. I am happy about it but I have to admit that the most powerful motivator for me staying in the position so long is my expensive (sick) horse. My horse is better now and I just have to take the leap. I have actually considered the budget carefully and we will be just fine. Still scary!

Good luck, Gayla. I've been there and know how you feel. I sincerely hope your boy stays healthy and i thnk oyu'll find yourself far HEALTHIER with that lessened stress level.

My boss at my day job was working on retiring for over a year. There was this cloud in the air that 'maybe' I was capable of making that jump upward. I made myself sick as a dog trying to figure out how to do it, and finally talked to my boss and told her I just didn't feel I had enough experience to be THE person in charge. She said she had the same worry that I didn't have adequate experience in 2 areas where the position can be really pivotal. Once we agreed, we both felt better and I have felt a million times better....am sleeping at night, and getting well again. That promotion would've meant more funds for the farm and the rescue, but not at what it was costing me, and I wasn't even doing the job yet!!! :(
