I finally found an exercise to get lazy baby's knees up!

Yes, bounces are useful for that. :)

I would add some cavaletti in front to help regulate the tempo a bit, and I bet you'd get an even better effort.

Next year we'll build some more interesting gymnastics. This was his 6th time ever over fences. He's such a good baby. :)

He's cute. Try not to jump ahead and lay on his neck. If you can stay still it will help him use himself better. To do this you need to get out of your knee and into your lower leg. If you can borrow a more schooled horse you could to that gymnastics with both reins in one hand and your other hand on your hip fingers facing forward.

Haha ya I got a little ahead through that bounce but that's okay, that's not my normal ride. It happens, right?

That Brush jump is so funny. My young horses totally don't bat an eye at it but my 12 y.o. gelding who has been there, done that, and jumped all kinds of scarey jumps really doesn't like that fuzzy thing. LOL.
