View Full Version : 5 point breastplate in custom colors?
Oct. 18, 2009, 02:22 PM
I've needed a new breastplate forever, and since I haven't bought a single piece of tack in 6 months I am thinking about splurging and getting a fancy custom 5-point. I know that there is somewhere out there that does them in custom colors (the elastic) but I can't seem to find it by searching. Anyone have any info?

I'm sorry I'm of no help, but I would love to know as well. Good luck!

The Hilason saddle people will do a custom one for you, not sure about elastic colors.

What colour elastic do you want? I've seen a few different colours around, don't know if they do custom, but they might be what you want.

Yeah, different brands do different colors, so you might find one in the color you want without having to go custom.

Ideally navy blue and baby blue (or white.) Found a really nice looking Antares breastplate at
but it isn't the 5 point. Ultimately it isn't really a big deal, but I could have sworn someone was talking about having one made on here....
Oh well, I'm too much of a matching princess already

This one looks blue maybe...
Jeffrie's makes a blue one, only site I saw was UK though
Never heard of this site before, but it appears they would make to order (*does .au mean it's an australian website??)

The jeffries one is navy and yellow, but is very pretty!!
I'm DROOLING over the antares one... it's on my xmas list :)
There's also this one, but again.. not quite what you want....

Yes it does :)
I've been looking for a custom one as well, and I did find a place in Australia that does them. I cant remember who it was though !

Just call Bartville Harness Shop and ask if they'll customize it. They make the Nunn Finer 5-Point Breastplate, they'll sel it to you for $120 + $17 shipping, and they do custom work. Even if they charge you a fortune to add blue elastic, you'll still be way under the price tag on these other breastplates.
For the record, I think matching on the breastplate is excessive. Once your horse sweats all over the elastic, it's going to look ucky. OTOH, the spectators would hardly be able to see it as you zipped by, so if it floats your boat go for it.

In a previous thread, someone posted a link to an Ebay seller in the UK that did these. They looked just as fantastic as the big names. I bought a Nunn Finer and love it - but it is all brown, including the elastic.
