Can anyone recommend some side reins to me? I have the old kind w/ rubber doughnuts instead of elastic. The problem is they are too short, even on the last hole for my 17 h, long necked horse. I'd like to have some w/ more length options, and I'm open to hearing discussion of the rubber doughnut vs elastic.
Thank you!

I always have used the donut type as it acts more like contact. I find the elastic insert ones stretch too much.

Just get a longer pair of the donut sidereins, tried and true. The elastic (in my experience) cause horses to bounce against them. I was riding a friend's horse a few years ago and this is what she lunged the horse in. Then when I got on, the horse continued to "bounce" into the contact. Decided then and there, those weren't for me!
You could probably take the side reins into a shoe repair place and have them extended with additional, matching weight leather for a lot cheaper than new ones.

I hate the elastic ones too. My horses just yank against them. I prefer just a solid leather side rein personally. But definitely no elastic. Too stretchy.

Thanks a bunch. I'll go get my heavy duty doughnut ones extended. Appreciate it!
