Ok guys, tell me WWYD with a few youngsters who are basically pasture puffs? They have free choice of good quality hay, plenty of room to roam, and DEFINATELY do not need extra calories, but I want to make sure they're getting the right amount of protein/vits/minerals. I had them on a RB and they were getting a little hefty, even with that. Any suggestions????

I would give them a vit/ min supplement that complements the forage in your area mixed with a cup of wet beet pulp or a sticky textured feed

Yeah THAT. Get them off the dang RB. My horses got so obese on a Ration Balancer that they could barely waddle. And that was on 1/2 lb (not the full amount) and supplemental vitamins (1 ounce). In my case, it was a sensitivity to soy. My fatties get 2 cups of soaked beet pulp (2 cups AFTER soaking) and their multi vitamin.
