I did a search but couldn't find any thing, except one suggestion of maybe a spider bite...
When I was at the barn two days ago I noticed two parallel linear lumps (about 1 inch long each) about half way down underside of my horses neck. I didn't notice any heat and just kind of assumed his buddy had nipped him. There was no broken skin so I didn't put anything on it.
Then yesterday, the two lumps had shrunken significantly, but there was a new, larger lump on the underside of his neck, right next to the others. This one was round and warm. I can't find any broken or irritated skin and it doesn't seem to hurt when I fuss with it. The lump is raised about 1/4 inch off his neck and is 1.5 inches diameter.
He seems fine, but I was worried that maybe it was a first symptom of some terrible disease and so I thought it best to check with the experts. Any ideas?
Thank you!
