Am looking at an ad in the November Equine Journal that featured Vanners. There is an ad for a waterprooof blanket by Centaur that claims to be forever waterproof.("Superline- 1680D") Does anyone have any experience w/ this brand/product? They claim to have a waterproof yet breathable membrane that will not wash away.
www.englishridingsupply.com carries it- the ad lists a few places in the NE that carry it. I am in the market for a heavyweight turnout. Really thinking about it today as it is snowing here in upstate NY!
TIA.

I have a centaur sheet, not sure what kind but it was very very cheap. I have had it for 4 years and it is still in excellent shape. It seems to be waterproof. However, my horse is top of the totem pole and while they do get put out in light rain and snow we do not turn out if it is going to pour hard all day long so I can't vouch for that.

I have a medium weight Centaur and it's held up well for 2 or 3 seasons now. My guy is super hard on blankets, but doesn't stay out in the rain/snow unless it's only raining a little bit. He goes out in the snow and rolls when it's not coming down, though, and we haven't had any problems yet.
Granted, he stays body clipped all winter, so he eventually moves into a heavy weight blanket. He's not in his Centaur the entire season.
I'm pleased with it, though, especially since my guy can be so hard on clothes. I also like it because it comes down low enough on the sides for the taller horses. He doesn't look like he's wearing a miniskirt. (My guy is only 16.2h, but my friend's 17.3h beast also wore the same blanket.)
