We've used DSBs for a while...I know they don't give huge support, but they give some, and I like the idea of them when we do lateral work. They also work well to keep flies off in summer!
But I'm worried now that I see reports that heating up the legs can be problematic...any info? Suggestions? Advice? Smacks upside the head?

I have been using DSB's, front and back, on my horse for two years and I have never had a problem.

If you search the eventing thread there is quite a bit of discussion on this topic. If you're going to boot I don't think DSB are too bad - are they lined with real fleece? I believe neoprene boots are the worst for holding heat...
How warm are your horses legs immediately after your ride? If they are warm to hot, I'd seriously consider dropping the boots for regular schooling.
Here's a thread that talks about it - http://www.chronicleforums.com/Forum/showthread.php?t=95950&highlight=boots+heat+tendon
