Last weekend I took Aero to a local schooling show and had an absolute blast with him.

We did the 2'6" hunters and a medal class. I think we're ready to try our hand at a bigger show.

Please share your photos & stories of your young horses from this year, I'd love to see how everyone is coming along.

Here are a few photos from Saturday

I unfortunately do not have a horse at the moment but I am still very willing to take one of yours off of your hands ;)

Congrats on a fun show! Can't wait to hear how things continue to come along!

I've known my boy since he was born and made him mine when he was 2. He just did his first 3' show on Sunday and I'm still smiling from how awesome he was. Isn't it a great feeling? I've seen your guy since you got him and even I'm proud to see him jumping like a pro! He's so freakin cute.

Everybody's babies look great! I can't wait to get to do more with mine.

I took Aero's younger brother Dodger along on Saturday as well. He did his very courses and his first Hack. He was SO good. I wish someone would have taken pictures of him too. He was adorable in his own right. On the way to the show I got all sentimental about the fact that I've brought these two along from little babies and now they're ready to face the world and hopefully go on to be very successful at their jobs.

I've got a few for you: (warning: lots of pictures :-))

My now 5 year old mare that I literally put my blood sweat the tears into. We imported her as a yearling (the ugliest yearling you've ever seen... see picture below), I started her at 3 yo, had a few bumps along the way, brought her to college with me when she was 4 for a college education in dressage/gymnastics, then last winter she competed in the 5 year old young jumper qualifying classes at HITS and then this summer everything seemed to just "click" and she was awarded 1st in N.A for her performance in the KWPN Iron Spring Farm Cup for 5 year old Young Jumpers.

Yearling: http://photos-e.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc1/hs027.snc1/3152_537840900465_10402430_31942628_4124841_n.jpg
3-year old: http://photos-f.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc1/hs027.snc1/3152_537841125015_10402430_31942629_3489227_n.jpg

5 year old competing at HITS in the YJC: http://photos-h.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc1/hs027.snc1/3152_537842237785_10402430_31942695_6157673_n.jpg
Schooling at home this past summer: http://photos-f.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc1/hs180.snc1/6776_543599370445_10402430_32222357_6606532_n.jpg
September 2009 at the KWPN Keuring in the Iron Spring Farm Cup:

Next is my 4 year old mare:

Imported her as a weanling (very awkward growing weanling- see the very unflattering picture below, she was bred and had my favorite foal to date at 3 yo, I started her this past June and to my surprise- she took to work like a duck to water (guess she wasn't keen on the job of being a mom again) and she finished with a 1st in N.A for the Iron Spring Farm Cup for 4 year olds with me on board :-)

Weanling (very unflattering): http://photos-d.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc1/hs237.snc1/8419_545765364775_10402430_32308259_353176_n.jpg
Her foal Della Joia Bella S: http://photos-h.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc1/hs124.snc1/5336_543281397665_10402430_32207983_2522644_n.jpg
June 2009 (learning the ropes): http://photos-a.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc1/hs088.snc1/4622_539491213225_10402430_32020064_7063142_n.jpg
September 2009- winning the Iron Spring Farm Cup: http://photos-h.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc1/hs257.snc1/10423_543880317425_10402430_32233799_3043800_n.jpg
http://photos-a.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc1/hs277.snc1/10423_543927477915_10402430_32235824_2147419_n.jpg

And my next project is a 3 year old mare that will be joining me in training at Tim Stockdale's shortly. Fingers crossed, she too "clicks"

Taken over the summer: http://photos-d.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc1/hs277.snc1/10423_544375155765_10402430_32257179_4215556_n.jpg

What an adventure young horses are! When you think you're going to throw in the towel, things just click, it's definitely a test of patience and persistence.

Yes

It was a little sad when I realized that Peter didn't have his baby face anymore... but very happy that he is growing up!

He is my first baby and it has been a very exciting and rewarding journey, hangin' on for the ride can be tough but totally worth it :D

Malcolm is my baby...a coming 3 year old Quarter Horse rescue! Hes cute as can be with the cutest trot!! He has come so far in a short amount of time! We recently broke him so no real action shots at this point, but some candid types! Today was my first ride on him (someone else broke him for me!) and we walk, trot cantered nicely! Hes such a super star and a great student!

I love, love, love Aero's coloring. And it certainly looks like he's got the chops to go with it.

I am having difficulty getting pictures of my spotted 2YO. This may be because my 3YO human starts to cry every time I go to the barn without her. However, I did long line her with the bridle on for the first time yesterday (the horse, not the human), and was pleased to discover that the steering and stopping with the halter and long lines translated to the bridle. I'd never tried it that way before - made the whole bridle thing a non-event.

Next time we want pictures of baby brother too!
