To the annonymous person keeping my horses clean, normally I would be ubber pissed off. Though you have obviously have been carrying this on for a good two months now, & neither you nor the horses have been killed yet. So...CARRY ON!

Funny. Any horse crazy little girls around your barn?
I recently arrived to find that my horse's mane had been pulled! Turned out the barn owner did it for me while Patrick was sedated for dental work. She knew I had been trying to find someone to do it and saw no reason to waste perfectly good drugs... :)

Odd. Your choice, though; either post a "Keep Out" sign on your horse's stall, or a thank you note with a bag of little Halloween goodies.
Maybe they'd like a job as your full-time groom?

Isn't anyone else bothered by the trespassing, messing with your personal property, 'every time you handle a horse you're TRAINING him' thing? Riding someone else's horse without permission is a felony, and how do you know "cleaning' is all they've done???

Okay, confession time- No I haven't been grooming your horses, but...
When me and my friend (both head over heels horse crazy) were like maybe 9- 10 years old, she had a neighbor with horses. We had no horses. (Can you see the problem already??? LOL!) We thought it was just awful that said neighbor always let her horses get filthy- So we would climb a tree at friend's house and wait until we saw them leave- then we would sneak into their barn, grab brushes and go out in the field and groom their horses. Well one day, we got caught- I think it was the most terrifying moment of my life at that point. The neighbor asked where we were from, who are parents were, etc- gave us the its dangerous to be in here talk. Well we hightailed it back to her house and hid in the tree from her parents for the rest of the day.
Fast forward twenty some years- my friend's an equine vet who specializes in repro work and I work for a major sporthorse center. And everytime we get together, somehow this story turns up in discussion- LMAO!!

I have considered trying to find a barn with some horse crazy preteens. I'd love to have them crawling all over my well behaved but young mare. I trust my mare, I would love to provide her that kind of 'training' where she gets fussed over, stands on the cross ties for hours on end while they groom her and play with her mane and tale, lead her around etc...Priceless.

I once had Cloudy and Callie at a barn where the preteens had their own ponies, but would do stuff for my 2. Then Cloudy and Callie bought the kids drinks and food, etc. Great as when I'd go out of town, the kids watched over my 2 and made sure they had their treats and fly spray, etc. This was a full service barn, but the kids made it super full service. Kids would run out and bring them in from paddocks, groom, etc. Great kids and I and my horses appreciated their work.

I wish someone would anonymously remove the manure stains from my guy each morning before I have to see him!

Is this at a boarding barn?
I guess I'd just want to know who it was so I could thank them! LOL But my two are safe and I wouldn't be too concerned as long as that was ALL they were doing. I've boarded in places where I found out that people were using my horses without my permission...so I'm a little touchy about knowing precisely who is doing what with my girls.

I'd also be a little concerned that someone was not just grooming but riding.. it happens... At least find out who it is, maybe leave a nice note, thank you, just want to know who you are???
