I've been DVRing the RFD television program "Horse & Country TV" and last night's (1am) offering was a Lucinda Green clinic for lower-level eventers. Really good stuff.

There've been a couple of other good eventing programs as well, including a goodly portion of the cross-country from the Houghton International. For those of you out there who get RFD TV as part of their basic cable/dish subscription, it's worth recording the show (or staying up to all hours and watching it ;) ).

ETA: here's the show's website http://www.horseandcountry.tv/horse

When i read your post I was elated that they finally put a competent person on there.

Hee. It looks to me that RFD is re-broadcasting programs filmed in England. Don't know if there's more to come from Lucinda Green, but there was also, for example, a jumping clinic with Ludger Beerbaum and a dressage clinic with Ferdi Eilberg. As well as some additional... ah... random stuff. ;)

I'm betting the programs DO get repeated -- the Ferdi Eilberg one has come around again in less than a month. I don't think they're broadcast at "watchable" times, though, so your best bet is a VCR/DVR and just record everything.

There is a programme called "Changing Reins" with Oliver Townend and Boyd Excell that is pretty good if you can watch online in the USA? :) I thoroughly enjoyed it; there were 2 episodes, Oliver attempting carriage driving, and Boyd attempting eventing (if I remember correctly, he got to ride Flint for a dressage session!). Well worth a watch.

Bumping because the way my DVR is capturing the repeats, I'm betting the Lucinda Green clinic will be aired again soon.

A definite must see for any aspiring, or lower level event riders. Although I've seen a couple of lower level dressage clinics on RFD, nothing until this on eventing. It was really funny to hear her tell a couple of people to either do it, or (basically) go home. Not her exact words but she berated them just enough to make them step up and everyone ended on a good note. Just like a Jimmy Wofford clinic I watched once where he told a group he could embarrass them over an 18" fence and by god he did!

That looks like it would be a "part 2" companion piece to the show I've already watched. Thanks!!!

I loved the facial expressions she made after somebody had an ugly ride. It was great!

I also like that she didn't mind the "overeager" bay running sideways and charging as long as they got the job done. It gives me hope for my pony!

Thanks for the heads up!

What are the names of the other shows mentioned?

There was so much to like -- am looking forward to watching Part 2 online. Have to say, though, if I was Morag? Don't think I'd be able to watch the show. Having Lucinda Green make faces about me more than once would probably make me give up riding and take up basketweaving.

The Lucinda Green clinic was shown under the umbrella show name of Horse & Country TV. You can go on the RFD website and see the schedule but, alas, you can't seem to find out what a given show's "topic" is.

All of the [B]Horse & Country TV[/B episodes seem to have originated in England/Great Britain and there's been everything from sports coverage of jumpers, to coverage of various equine events at some big fair (draft/wagon class and pony trap (?) racing, plus random "human interest" bits on craftsmen and a "children meet the hunt hounds" clip), to clinics from some BNR/Ts, including Lucinda Green.

And thanks for bringing that to my attention, too. ;)

About 2 years ago there was program called CountryChannel.TV you could access on the web. I don't think it's in service any longer. They had a XC Lucinda Green Clinic that was completely different from the ones on Horse & Country TV.

Attached is a link to a 5 minute video clip from that show on YouTube called Lucinda Green - Cross Country Training. Enjoy.

P.S. Lucinda also does a monthly diary for Petplan that's a fun read too.

I planned on going, but I like to be prepared. I survived a Jimmy Wofford clinic and I would go again in a second.

I can't wait to go to the Lucinda Green clinic and now am even more excited. Thanks for the good words. For anyone, it's at Win Green in the Spring, but I believe it's on 2 week days.

I just posted on the wrong Lucinda thread, but you get the idea.

So, a combination of boredom at work (new job -- thank god -- where, unbelievably, no one CARES if you're watching/doing god knows what on your computer during your down time) + my horse (well, the horse I half-lease) coming up lame just prior to our (first and) last chance to attend an (unrecognized) HT (all earlier ones pre-empted by Lyme Disease (horse's, not mine)) + a newfound obsession with Lucinda Green has led me to identify more of her clinics that you can watch... ONLINE!

http://www.horseandcountry.tv/search/apachesolr_search/Lucinda%20Green

(2 episodes here -- the first is the one broadcast on RFD TV)

I also found another interesting site that seems to have LOTS of great stuff, across all disciplines. Plus stuff that would fit in the "around the farm" and other forums:

http://countrychanneltv.com/player.php

To get to the Lucinda Green clinic, you need to go through a couple of steps

* First, along the bottom of the screen, change the "channel" to "equestrian."
* Then, look for the bar with the type "What's On/Videos/News"
* Click on Videos.
* Then, choose Eventing.
* Then, scroll through the list to find the clinic. Which I haven't watched yet.

Anyone else have recommendations on good things to read/watch?
