I'm adopting a dog from fellow COTHer steppineasy, one of her recently deceased parents' farm dogs (adult, not a puppy). It seems that it should be easy to get a dog from Lexington, KY to me in western NC, but poor steppineasy was involved in a car accident the evening before we were planning to meet, and is not yet up to doing long driving. I don't have a whole spare day in the next few weekends to go all the way to Lex and back in one day.

Is anyone going to be driving Lexington KY to Knoxville TN, or hopefully from there toward NC on I-40 in the near future, and could ferry the dog on that leg of the trip? steppineasy is on fall break this week, so a weekday would be okay. My students are on fall break Thursday thru Tuesday, so my time is somewhat flexible, though Thursday morning is out (and I'm hoping to audit a clinic Fri-Mon, but could give up a half-day if needed). I could drive as far as Corbin, KY on my end.

Thanks for any help--

I just drove from Cookeville, TN to Lexington and back two weeks ago! would have been more than happy to bring the dog at least this far if I d known. I'll keep my ears open for anyone who is headed that way.

Hi, sent an email after I spoke with you. Haven't heard back from steppineasy yet.
I can meet in KY and drop off along I40 on my way back with the 2 new horses.

Let me know as I need to plan where I'm staying.

Great to meet you yesterday.
I'm glad Patches was able to get to his new home, hope he settled in last night.

Thank you so much for the "care package". It was much appreciated on the long ride home. :)
