I have a very lovely 17-year-old Oldenburg mare who is green broke but would be a great project for the right rider.

How did she get to be 17 and green? She was well-started as a youngster (flat and fences), but when she was about 5, her owner went through a messy divorce and simply lost the will to ride. All her horses were pretty much just turned out in the field. At 16, she was given to my trainer. In that long interim period, she was occasionally trail ridden (mostly by kids).

My trainer gave her to me about a year ago. We've worked with her a lot, and she's now going well on the flat, was doing well over small jumps, started her changes, and longes beautifully. She has a great work ethic and nice personality. She is a bit of a hussy when in season but that doesn't really manifest when she's being ridden.

Unfortunately, I've discovered that at my advanced age, I've become a chicken, and moving her along over fences is just not for me.

She is branded Oldenburg, but I don't have papers for her. She's got beautiful conformation and 3 lovely gaits. She'd do well in either hunters or dressage. She's 16.2H, chestnut with a white blaze, a little white on the front ankles and right hind ankle.

Please PM if interested.
