Just reading the thread about a 4 month old who had never been dewormed... I would just like to see everybody's opinions/routines:)

What dewormers do you use on your foals? When do you start & how often? When do they go on an "adult horse" schedule?

I've learned a lot from the thread so far, but would like more people's input. Thanks!

I start mine around six weeks old. I worm them monthly, alternating between Panacur, Strongid and Ivermectin. After they are weaned and have their second Ivermectin in the cycle, they start on daily dewormer.

Our routine: Start at about 1 month old, give or take a week. Use panacur and ivermectin until about 3 or 4 months, then rotate in with strongid. At 9 months, they're usually on the normal horse schedule: rotating panacur, ivermectin, strongid, oxibendazole, and equimax. If any of them seem unthrifty, or sometimes in cases of unexplained diarrhea, they may get the 5-day double-dose of panacur (anytime).
