I think boots that would help support my mare's frogs and give her some cushion would be good. I really have no idea where to start. I have done a full search on here and there were some good ideas. But i was wondering if anyone has used boots on a navicular horse that seems to do better barefoot and if so any thoughts on frog support or wedging in the boot to help her.Just hoping for some thoughts before I spend all that money. Oh yeah, she is sound at the trot on a circle! <doing dance with chicken arms waving> Also, holding breath.

you need to ask your farrier to trim and shoe her s she has more protection
as they are the only ones treat lower limb actions

If she's sound with her foot flat on the ground, don't mess with changing angles via pads in a boot. She doesn't have additional frog support or wedges now so why would you add them? I don't think regular boots would do any harm but I also don't think they offer much cushioning other than protection from stones etc. (YMMV). You should have a discussion with your farrier and/or vet regarding this.

Oh good grief.

To the OP, I like the Easycare Edge. A lot depends on which boot has the correct measurements for your horses foot though.

LMH, I add a double good grief to that. The OP says the horse does better bare, why shoe it then.

OP, I also love the Edge and it is an easy boot to add pads to, what the horse likes is up to the horse. I always try a variety of pads to see what makes them happy but the comfort pad or the dome will stimulate the frog, the dome more then the comfort pad.

The Edge also has good traction and is easy to get on.
