View Full Version : Euro Event Champs-- the X-C course

Andreas Dibowski of the German team at Euros/Worlds/Olympics writes about this years European Championship X-C course. (The German is followed in each article
by English translation)

Dibowski--along with most of the other members of German team--had a dismal X-C round.
But here, he basically calls for more intelligent course design.

<< For myself, the result of the Europeans gives no reason to bury my head in the sand. For me, it’s more an incitation to fight for better conditions at Championships or other big eventing competitions. Conditions, which will allow the best ones to win. Conditions which will enable the horses to fully utilize and present their achievement potential... It wasn’t like that at the Europeans this year.

once again during this year we were confronted with a cross country course which frustrated and demoralized the horses.

This is a development which I deplore to be extremely alarming....>>

Thanks for posting that. Very interesting but not surprising. I'm really glad he's speaking out on these issues.

Wasn't he also quoted to the same effect after one of the other big European events? Luhmuhlen, perhaps?
