13yo TB gelding, bay with chrome, 16.2h. This horse has won a lot in the 3' hunters, including year-end state awards, zone awards, etc. Very nice jump, big stride, swaps leads. Sounds great, right? Here's why he's a giveaway:

This horse has a *big* spook. He's generally kicking quiet, but he does have a spook that at 13 years old will probably never totally disappear. It does get much less frequent if he is in a regular program, and is something that a pro or experienced junior/ammy can certainly ride through. I got him cheap intending to use him in my lesson program, but he is just too unpredictable for the level of riders I teach. For this reason, he has not been ridden for the past few months. If someone is serious about taking him, I'd be willing to get him legged up again before you try him.

Please do not inquire about this horse if you are a beginner - he is not for you. If you are a competent junior or aa looking for a legitimate A-circuit hunter without a big price tag, or a pro who is willing to put in some time to make a nice resale project, he might be perfect for you. He might also work well for a lesson program that caters to more experienced riders.

Another thought miught be to contact the New Mexico State Equestrian Team. They might very well be able to work with a horse like this?

Yes I've thought of doing that...However as of today, I have a trial set up for him as a foxhunter, which he's never done before. He's being picked up in a week, but I told the people if I find him a show home before then, he'll be gone as this is what I'd prefer for him. Hunt season is already starting and it's going to be a while before he's fit enough to do that job. So if anyone's interested, please let me know asap! I would be willing to do a trial with the stipulation that he'd have to be picked up from my place before next Friday and then delivered to the foxhunting people (Santa Fe area) if it didn't work out.

This is a really nice horse - I know someone out there wants to take a chance on him!
