We came home from a night of horse camping to see a crazy amount of smoke- and the worst winds I've seen in a long long time. 50-60 mph gusts (maybe even more), blowing the furniture off my deck....

The fire's across the highway, and we aren't (and probably never will be) ever in the path of any fire. Thankfully, but eek.

It's in an area of nice homes on acreage. The gal who was trying to buy our farm boarded her horse up there. Since the trailer was still hooked up, we drove by- seeing if her or anyone else needed help, since it. No one is allowed in. I didn't see any horses where I normally see them- but I did see a truck and trailer hitched up, but not moved. Most horses up there are out on pasture- I hope they are ok. We were there only 2 hours after smoke was initially spotted. It's moving very quick :(

They've got lots of helicopters around- and none of us see the fire- they say it is fast moving. We could see where it as already burnt. With winds this high and conditions this dry....

Can you send some jingles for the horses, and that the winds may die down? Otherwise, a heck of a lot of damage is going to be done.

Saw it on the news - hope everyone is okay.
It's crazy windy up here too!

Yeah! Channel 9 showed lots of horse trailers- they must have gotten them out before we got there. The winds are fierce but sounds like the fire is dying down... after burning 100 acres!

Lots of jingles coming your way. Having just gone through a wildfire in our area, I completely sympathize. Take care of yourselves!

Stay safe and hope all the horses get out. Wildfire is just scary...

They mentionned "downed power lines" as probable cause...

Somehow they got it under control despite raging winds all night- we don't see any smoke today, even though it's only 'officially' 10% contained. The area isn't heavily forested so I think that helped. Most people were allowed back in that had to evacuate. Tragedy averted ;)
