I am looking for experiences on replacing the Clarino knee patches on my breeches. What is the best fabric to go with? Should I try to find the Clarino fabric online or would my local JoAnn's fabric store be able to supply me with something comparable? I was in there last night looking at the micro suede upholstery fabric...

Basically, I just want to revive some schooling breeches, so I don't care what pattern the patches are... in fact, it might be fun to have patterned patches. I wash them in the washer with all my other clothes... no special treatment. No flames for not babying my schooling breeches, please. The pants themselves are perfectly fine. I hate to be wasteful and it would save a little bit of money to just have my local tailor sew on new ones.

Any ideas are greatly appreciated.

Go with the stretch Ultrasuede, it's much more comfortable IMO and not much more $$$.

Thanks. I will look into that.

Any others?
