My truck came with a fifth-wheel hitch. Can I use this with a gooseneck horse trailer or is it just for campers? I don't want to sell it until I know for sure what I can use it for.
Also does anyone use the gooseneck ball hitch that attaches to the fifth-wheel rails?

My horse trailer has a fifth wheel. and I prefer that to a regular gooseneck. It is much easier to hook than a gooseneck - back up til the pin connects with the plate, get out, check the connection do the safety and lights and you're off....no messing around and bashing up your truck box. It's easy to change the hitch out for the pin, and probably cheaper than the hitch ball that attaches to the plate, yep there is such a thing, check rv places

When we bought our current truck, it had a fifth wheel hitch - we just bought a plate to make it into a gooseneck hitch instead (it attaches to the rails). This has worked very well and wasn't too expensive.
The only thing I miss about my old truck's more traditional GN setup has been the turnover ball, it was nice to quickly be able to have the bed of the truck flat when hauling other things in there. Not worth an extra $600-$700 though...
